When I'm walking around UCSD I see these guys with humongous mirrored sunglasses (aviators?) like they're porn stars from the 1970s or something. Here's a link to a styrofoam head (http://www.vshades.com/lavg1.jpg) wearing a pair with gold rims. What is this from? Some recent movie or something? A frat, perhaps? Some retro craze? Some east coast fashion that has just arrived out west? I'm lost.

Im claiming this trend as my own, its now stupid, because all the frat funbois caught on. I wore aviators ever since I started driving at 16, Im now 23.

PS Im from the midwest, so I dont know how it spread.

PPS And even I stole the coolness from the Beastie Boys.

Aviators and aviator-like-shaped glasses have been pretty hot for a while now, I don't know about mirrored-lenses, though. I haven't seen many of those.

I have a pair but I'm really not much of a sunglasses guy. The way I see it, most sunglasses are either like ultra-sporty oakley types which i don't like, or those really gay uber-metrosexual types of glasses which I don't like either. I just think that they're a pretty simple no frills pair of sunglasses.

I just got back from a month in Italy. Almost every guy there had huge sunglasses in addition to gross mullets. Just be happy you are only seeing half the trend so far.

Alright well I wear aviator sunglasses; I think they're cool. I got em' fer 5 bucks on the streets of Mannhatan.

1. They're cheap
2. I don't know anything about looking fashionable, so why try with sunglasses?
3. Girls like them, at least in my experience.
4. If you're really really drunk you can wear them and no one will know it, whereas if you put Oakleys on at a party people would be like "what the fcks wrong with you"
