I'm new to Omaha and had the following hand. And YES I used the that USELESS/DSYFUNCTION 'search' function. Perhaps I did not enter the correct magic words. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

You have AAxx(A88). How do you play this hand in:
1. A raised pot where you raised.
2. A raised pot where someone else raised.
3. An unraised pot.

For #1 I gave a free card then bet 50% on the turn and river.
For #2 again I'm incline to milk the flop or give a free card.
For #3, I'm looking to milk this hand and give people a chance to catch up.

What if someone has 8888? Is this a situation you just lose you entire stack?

Sure, do what you can.

Agreed. The raiser may be keen to represent AAxx as well.

I bet out here to get anyone with an 8 to help build a pot. Turn is player dependent.

Side note: Perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't understand folks who slow-play overfulls in this situation. Twice the other night I bet out in EP on J66-type boards where I had 6xxx. Both times I got the red flag two callers behind, letting me get away cheap from an overfull in the middle.

Yes, unless you are Robert Williamson III.

I had quad kings and kept make small raises against a guy's top boat (AAAKK!) on the river.

After a while, he stopped re-raising me and just called.

What a fish! 99 times out of 100 I'm beat.

Hi Felix,

A couple of important pieces of info you left off.

Firstly how big is the pot in relation to peoples stack sizes?

Secondly, at what level is this.

1. Bet and hope an 8 check raises me.

2. I either check-call or bet half the pot dependent on raiser's pf aggression.

3. I bet out and hope someone has an 8 or A8xx.
