When I was reading kurosh's post (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=3523228&page=1&view=colla psed&sb=5&o=31&fpart=1) about how to handle a guy that insults your wife, I thought of the movie Crash. Most of OOT agrees it was one of the top movies of the year, and it has some great scenes. One of them relates to kurosh's post, but is even more difficult and horrible. When I first saw the movie, I wondered how I would handle the situation, and now I am thinking about it again. I searched the previous OOT Crash threads and did not find the situation discussed. Interesting question IMO follows below.
Those of you who have seen the movie probably know what I'm talking about, and can just skip to the question at the very bottom. For those of you who didn't see the movie, here is the scenario.
*** CRASH SPOILERS BELOW - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ***
There is a racist cop who is under stress because his ailing father is having medical problems, and he can't get help from his HMO. The cop is steamed and frustrated because of a bad run-in with a black female HMO staffer who denies his father access to the right doctors/procedures. The cop insults her for being black, and she retaliates by humiliating him and having security escort him from the building. The cop is furious, and presumably is looking to take out his frustration on blacks and/or women.
He pulls over an SUV with a rich black gentleman and his mixed-race wife (the SUV looks similar to one suspected for a carjacking). When pulling them over, with his spotlight shining into the car, it looks like a white women was straightening up from giving a black man a blowjob, which perhaps upsets him even more.
After the cop has them pulled over, and after he can see that the people are harmless and that this is not the SUV they are lookig for, the cop unnecessarily detains them in order to make himself feel better. He proceeds to give the guy a sobriety test, then orders the wife out of the car, to frisk them both. While the black gentleman is standing pressed against the car, with his hands above his head, the cop frisks his wife, who is wearing a slinky, revealing cocktail dress. The cop then completely feels her up, feeling the sides of her breasts, up and down each of her legs slowly, and into the crotch region. The scenes are unclear, but from her wincing expression, it is even possible he is momentarily probing her vag. She is obviously freaked out, humiliated, crying, and being violated.
It is late at night, no one else is around, these are armed policemen, with his partner standing behind you, and you are smaller than them.
