how do most players agree to a stake?

say there is a player that i know could beat a game but for whatever reasons, he doesnt have the roll to play in that game. do i ask thi player if he wants a stake? or do i wait for this player to approach me and ask for a stake?

anyone have any links to good threads about staking? (yes i tried searching, but as many of you know the search function on this forum is crap)

A few things that make up a good staking agreement:

- You and the person you stake should be friends and trust each other a lot.
- You should figure out a deal that makes both of you money.
- Do it to be a friend, not just to make money. The money is a bonus.

Typically a deal will be you bankrolling your friend to play some level, and he gives you a perecentage of his winnings while you take all the losses. Because you're taking all the risk, you need to figure out a percentage that makes up for that. Obviously if the player is very good and a proven winner, you can take smaller percentage because there's less risk involved.
