This is not a game you can win, so don't try. Maybe over at QLC you can impress people, but here having seen one indie move doth not make you goddamn Orson Welles.

I don't know if this movie is as good as i remember it to be or not and I cannot find it anywhere but it was called Purple Haze, about a guy's last night before going to Vietnam. The end was great.

No, Machinist is better than all those movies because it is more substance to it than just the gimmick. I think most people aren't able to look past the twist since they've seen something similar so many times. This is truly a great movie.

Why do people continue to mention movies like Run Lola Run and this one? Killing Zoe was pretty huge when it was out.

Swede

09-29-2005, 01:22 PM
I don't know what you mean by huge. I was in college when it came out and I went to see it at the Angelika in NYC which shows mainly small, indy movies. I don't recall any large chain theatres playing it or any mainstream media hype.

swede123
09-29-2005, 01:26 PM
Must have been all the black turtle neck wearing indie friends of mine that made it seem bigger than it was.

i am happy to see praise being given to 13 conversations about one thing.

since no one has mentioned it yet:

mainly because it was the first movie that i couldn't get my head around the first time i saw it. and the fact it was made by complete amateurs for pretty much zero money makes it an even greater accomplishment.
