View Full Version : STTF-HUC II: AT THE VENETIAN

The First Annual Presidents' Day Single Table Tournament Forum Heads-Up Championship (STTF-HUC II) will be held at the beautiful Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday February 18th, 2006.

Because the suite is significantly more expensive than the Palace Station was for HUC I, and because the 2-day format was not a big hit due to the condition of most of the participants on day 2... we will run the whole tournament in a single day.

The tournament will start earlier, probably around 10:00am, and run until we have a champion.

Dinner will be catered in the suite.

On or around October 2nd I will post details and registration information.

The field will be capped at 32 entries, and we will only have room for a few non-playing participants... so registration as a spectator will sell-out quickly too.

I am going to be out of town for a few days and will post all the details when I get back on October 2nd, so I won't be around to answer any PMs in the meantime.

Are you going to open up registration on the 2nd, or will it be later?

i.e. Do I need to play 1000 games in 5 days, or do I have a bit of time to come up with cash?

I am going to open registration on the 2nd, and the first 16 people to send me a check will get the un-seeded slots. I will hold the other 16 slots for anyone who played in the first HUC until 12/1. If by 12/1 I haven't received 32 paid entries, I will fill any open slots.

Oh, also, it looks like the "entry fee" will be in the neighborhood of $170 per player/spectator to cover the venue, the food, the alcohol, and the entertainment.

so, 170 + 200 or 500?

Sounds good. I recommend scrapping the $200 getting better value then the $500 players aspect as obviously playing a $500 player wasn't all that much of a handicap.

Might as well pencil me in vs Lacky either way, though.

Now, on to see how good Venetian's blackjack is....

P.S. Well, it seems one of our more corpulent posters was confused by my initial statements, so just to be clear, I want the $200 slots still available, but as structured before, they had a full value crack at 16x their $200, whereas $500 players got less value, since the $200 players water the prize pool down. It think it's safe to say from previous results that many low-roll guys have game.

I am so in.
Can't even wait.
Do you really need a "check"?
I'd have to dig up my checkbook from god knows where.
Probably the same place that my electric typewriter, VHS player, and Sega Genesis have disappeared to.

party, pstars, paypal, epassporte, neteller???

this is sooo funny because it is true. my checking account got shut down because it was overdrafted for so long. I just found out about it this week, and apparantly, it has been shut for close to three months. /images/graemlins/blush.gif

Swe-et, I actually stayed in a suite at the Venetian (through Hotwire) the weekend of the last STTF-HUC - it was a long walk to get there and a bit out of the way (maybe a good thing), but it was pretty phat.

I'm using my Empire 100k epoints for this trip. I'll be around to get meself registered this time.

Entries can be "paid" by at least four (4) separate methods:
1.) inter-account transfer @ Empire, Party, or PokerStars
2.) Neteller xfer
3.) Check by mail to Irie or SkipperBob
4.) Your "word" is good & I will pay your entry if you have never referred to me as an "old Fool" or a "LimpDick"

The skipper's help is appreciated, as always... but registration for the HUC II can only be accomplished by following the instructions I post on October 2nd. Be prepared to send a check. I am not going to accept multiple forms of payment this time because it involves too much leg work on my part to turn it all into real cash.

This time I am collecting checks and sending my wife to the bank one time.
