i use to work at a retail store in high school and these would always go on sale bc its not often people pay 15-20 bucks for a pair of socks.
if you get them, wear them like slippers, just around the house. if you wear them w shoes, holes will form within a few wears.

I have two pairs of cashmere dress socks that I wear to work in the winter. I am on year three and no holes yet /images/graemlins/smile.gif They are comfortable.

wouldn't holes form more readily walking around the house in them then when there are shoes surronding the socks?
I got some as a gift once, but they had this weird red dot on them.

Because of the pressure and friction the weight of your body applies to the surface between the socks and the soles of your feet.
They're very nice; I have several pairs. But they do wear out very quickly and they're a pain to care for. If your feet get cold often in winter they're ideal for bed.
Just get a pair, Bruiser. They're only like $25-$35 and you can afford it. If you don't like them, no big loss. If you do, the enjoyment is well worth it. Cashmere things, in general, are great.
