I would caveat it by saying ...

"Well-timed" and "well-placed" aggression is a good thing.

Certainly nothing wrong with your move, but it's not something you want to do every time. Even the most passive opponent will get tired of being pushed around eventually. The trick is to keep 'em guessing.

Anyway, good play, hope it worked out for you in the end.

I make this play all the time (usually raise to 3x bb though)

people will call almost any 2 in the small blind, and they will fold the vast majority of them to a raise from the bb... very profitable play

obviously follow it up with a continuation bet.

That's the point of stealing in position and making continuation bets. Is there something else I'm missing, or you wanted to discuss?
