Comments about play of this hand.

I was in Fla. recently, and sat in for a $45 buy-in STT at Hard Rock in Fla (on their Poker-Pro table -- i.e., table is a video machine, no dealer).

I have no idea how strong the game usually is, and have absolutely no read on any players.

Everyone starts with 1500T chips

Blinds are $50-100, Hero is MP

Hero dealt A /images/graemlins/heart.gif Q/images/graemlins/heart.gif in early middle position.

UTG Calls, Hero calls, Cut Off calls, SB folds, BB checks everyone else folds

5 see the flop, $450 in the pot

Flop comes down Q /images/graemlins/spade.gifT /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

UTG Checks. Hero bets $250. CO raises all-in. UTG Folds.

Hero????

Analysis. UTG should have QT for this call, but looking him in the eye, I just didn't think so. Though I can't say why. I ended up calling to find Tx, and took down the pot.

Any thoughts on the play, etc.

I just have a hunch that casino players sat around a machine might tend to be morons. I think I call and insert more money if I'm wrong.

Edit: I had not noticed the blind structure, I think it's even more of a call.

After playing -- your read of the players is dead on.

Aside from me -- I thought two players were ok. There was a husband/wife who was borderline colluding (funniest part of the evening was when the wife was all-in on the flop and got very angry at her husband who called and took her out when he flopped two pair), the rest were miserable.

I should have mentioned the blinds -- they start high, and double every 15 minutes. The rake structure was horrible --I think that out of the $45, $10 went to the house. I suppose it was worth it to play in the machine though ...

As to results, though nobody asked. 4 left, shortish stack, flop a set, straight draw calls and hits on the river, blah blah blah, so it goes.

Not sure if you mentioned your stack size but I couldn't find it. A lot of players would push Q-x there or something. I would probably push in this scenario.
