Hi guys,

I'll be taking a short road trip in July and I need to know which offers a better low/medium limit hold em game - AC or Foxwoods? Any advice is welcome... thanks in advance.

Hi Kim.

I just recently played in AC. I did all my poker playing at the Taj and Trop. The Taj spreads anything from 2-4 and up (2-4, 3-6, 5-10) for hold'em. The Trop spreads 2-4 and 4-8. If you go to Foxwoods, they spread 2-4, 4-8, and 5-10 with a kill at $100. The room at Foxwoods is also much larger than those of the Trop and Taj.

The reason I would choose AC over CT is that the casinos are much closer, ....and the beach /forums/images/icons/cool.gif . Mohegan is about 10-15 minutes away from Foxwoods and spreads 3-6 and 5-10 with a kill at $65.

It also seemed like they spread more low limit games at the Taj. When I played there on a Sunday night in March, there were 3 or 4 3-6 games going, and they were all full.

Hope this helps.

Well, I've never been to AC, but I know Foxwoods. It is out in the middle of nowhere, which is bad, but the poker room is huge, which is good. As far as the games, the 2-4 is full of passive bcalling stations. The 4-8 and 5-10 are pretty much the same, with the occasional good player.

You should be able to do well there.

I've heard the Taj poker room is larger than the one at the Woods.

I've never been to the Woods, but this is what I hear.

Pokerpages says Foxwoods has 57 tables and Taj has 68. That kind of surprises me because the poker room at Foxwoods seems larger (it could just be that it is more open/spacious). FWIW, I like the room at Foxwoods much, much more.
