View Full Version : Why do people named Bob....

NLSoldier

...ALWAYS put their name in their handle. I havent noticed this trend with any other name than Bob.

Some examples:
Pokerbob
ActionBob
MicroBob
JustBob
Bobbyi
ACbob

I know there are more that I am missing. Does anyone else find this odd?

Could it have something to do with the fact that the word Bob can also be a verb? There arent many names that also function as verbs.

That and it seems Bob compliments any word nicely. Let's try:

EggbeaterBob
ManureBob
PorkfatBob
AsparagusBob
EnemaBob
HangnailBob
PatricideBob

etc.

Scott Baio is going to be on Arrested Development next week and his character name is Bob Loblaw. Bob Loblaw. Bob Loblaw. I doubt that will ever be not funny, especially when peope like Gob and Buster are saying it.

I'm not sure what that means. Are you saying it's a bad thing?

Because it's shorter than other names.

There should clearly be a "If your name was bob what would your handle be" thread...

I would probably go with ShrimpontheBOB or Bobasuarus_REX

Don't forget the annual Bob convention in Las Vegas that draws thousands of people named bob who like hanging out with other bobs.

To answer the original question, if any of you had bothered to read "The Bob Book", clearly one of the most influential and important books of the last 500 years, you would realize that Bob is not just a name, it's a way of life.
