Hero???

This is a common situation which i have a problem with. On a ragged board like that do people think he has 2 overs or does he have a medium pocket pair?

The original bettor could have anything. The reraiser could have overpairs, A6 or a 2. Regardless, Hero must fold this hand and is definitely behind.

I don't know, but I'm not willing to pay my whole stack to find out. Personally, I'd just check and fold here.

I am the orginal bettor on the flop

So even with top pair and excellent kicker you would check fold that flop?

Can you explain why?

09-27-2005, 12:37 AM
Oh, my bad.

You've got four other players on the flop. They could easily have a higher pair, 77 and up they were playing for set value. More likely, you get all ins or calls that give you no idea what you're up against, like with this hand. Blind hands should be played looking for monsters and awesome draws.

This is one of those marginal situations that you can pass up to preserve chips.

So i should have just check/folded the flop. I hate doing this as i feel it leaves me open to passing the best hand early on.

I dont bet as much on the flop, you really just want to make a probe bet here.

Sure its unlikely anyone has a 2 but you still have to consider it. With a pair this low there is a good chance a limper has an overpair so your hand really isnt that strong.

I'd bet maybe 50 here expecting most overcards to fold.

I fold to any strong resistance.

Even if you have the best hand at that time, it is not robust enough to survive many showdowns.

At this early of a level, I would always check fold this, even to a min-bet.
