I was napoleon dynamite last year, year before I was walter from big lebowski and year before that I was duffman. All 3 of these were received quite well. I found an old, full body Raphael costume so im gonna be a TMNT this year which should be awesome.

Out of your choices Gary is by far the best, but most wont get it and itll be really hard to pull off. Which is the reason im not going to be him myself.

A friend of mine pulled off the sam adams guy really, really well two years ago and I thought that was a great costume.

I think topical ideas that people will quickly understand go over much better than characters from movies or cartoons. Last year in LA we were having a huge supermarket strike going on. I went to the market and got one of the strikers to give me a sign and went as one of them for Halloween.
I didn't even have to wear a costume, just carried the sign around. I even got people honking at me like I was actually on strike. Someone also offered to buy the sign from me for $20.

I say you find something current like that.

i was alex 2 years ago at a KMFDM concert in rochester, I gave Raymond Watts my bowler's cap it was hot.

Not the most creative person so have no idea for this year, but my best costume ever was me and a couple other guys dressed as sperm and went as the fillopian(sp) swim team.

Ive been thinking about this for a long time actually. I go to school in Madison and think last year's Halloween was in the top 10 most fun nights of my life. I went as laura croft with beer filled squirt guns and due to the success of my reception I feel a lot of pressure to outdo myself this year. My main options at this point are:

1. Natalie Portman's character from closer with the pink wig and some sort of thing with fringe on the top and some kind of adapted bottoms because she wears a thong and I will not be.

2. Elvira from Scarface, Michelle Pfeiffer's character I think in the outfit she first wears in the Elevator.

3. OR Jessica Rabbit in the red dress obviously...the other two would be wigs but for this one i think I would dye my hair.

Okay... I need some help boys and girls.
I want to go as Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 4. The costume isn't too hard to pull off and I can do just about everything for it except one thing (which I'm sure those who know RE4 know what it is.....)

I simply do not have a weird punker haircut in which I have the hair length to pull off his look. Anyone have any ideas of how I can do something to pull this off? Or is this something that I can just overlook (his hair IS Leon though...)

Any ideas? I really wanna do this because if I do this a guy told me he will go as the Merchant, and that would be awesome...

I searched in vain for the infographic from the Onion a little while back that listed top female halloween costumes. The gist was they were normal costumes, but with "sexy" added. So, off the top my head i'm gonna say they were:

That reminds me of this catalog I had last year of costumes that I got from one of those PartyCity/America/Town/Blimp stores that sells confetti or streamers all other times of the year. Anyway, they had the whole spectrum of costumes grouped together by age range. Apparently you only need to be about 12 before it is acceptable to go out looking like some kind of witch hooker. And what is it with all these pimp costumes? Last time I checked the main indentifier of a pimp was the extortion of prostitutes, not some weird affinity for purple cheetah-print zoot suits and bedazzled [censored] goblets.

tom cruise/joel goodsen from risky business. which basically consists of underwear, an unbottoned dress shirt, tube sucks, and raybans.

it has a good record so far.

my friends and i would always make plans for some sort of group costume, but we are always lazy and never get around to it. but past plans have been:
