Hey all,

Recently I've come to realize that I'm nowhere near the limit hold em player I thought I was. I've decided to start trying to rid myself of some weak tight habits and be more active around here. I've also moved out of the 30 and into the 20. So here goes.

Villain is 41/8/.8, my read is only that cause I've just sat down.

Party 20/40

I open raise in the CO at an 8 handed table w/ As2s. Folds to villain in BB who calls.

Flop: Qd 5s 6d. Check bet call. Turn is the Ah, BB checkraises and I 3 bet, planning to fold if capped or check behind on the river if he calls. Thoughts?

If you want to put in more chips after he c/r's, why not just call down?

Hmmm....I would just call down (and keep my fingers crossed).

I call down as well

edit: Reasoning: If he has a better hand I save a bet by just calling down and if he's bluffing I pick up another bet when he fires at river

Thanks guys. I appreciate the input. Many times I feel like I call down way too much. This is a spot where I would typically call down and I wasn't sure if that was correct, apparently it is. I just feel that not showing down hands like these in steal situations is asking to be ran over. Are those feelings justified?

No. No one cares what you're stealing with. They care about their own cards and possibly bluffing you off a better hand. This game isn't about ego and saving face. You've really got to eliminate thoughts like this. These feelings will cost you money.
