I count this one as my first but it is actually my 2nd. My first I went out on a bad beat in like last place, lol, but lets not talk about that!

So, during the first hour I played a total of 2 hands. Both were A/K and I doubled up both times. Besides those two hands I was getting absolute rags! Coming out of the second break I had about 5k and the average stack was 4,000 with the biggest being 13k.

During the 2nd break things didn't get much better and I played 4 hands this time. I managed to get myself up to 9k by the 2nd break.

After the 2nd break it was down to 19 players, and I coasted not really catching much. Finally it was down to 10, and blinds were 1200/2400. I was down to 4k and in my Big blind the SB went all in, I had to fold but luckily someone else called and knocked him out. I was all in next hand with K/6, didn't hit, so I took 9th.

Overall I think I did amazing, playing a total of 7 hands and taking 9th place, I don't have pokertracker so I'm not sure on the number of hands played to get any stats, but I am happy with my performance, just not with my cards /images/graemlins/frown.gif.

Won 19.48 and the buyin was $5! Not worth the time but great experience!

Play more hands, and you might win. Congrats on the 9th though.

Why? Call with any 2.

Was 4 handed, SB was also short stacked and I had 9 3o, I thought a fold would be best because I doubted I would win with 9 3o and hoped he would get eliminated.

sounds like you have 4k left with 4800 + sb's 4k or it costs you 4k to call a pot of 9800, (your share). you got 2.5 to 1 here. i assume you aren't playing for 9th place, (you want 1st). if you win this hand you have 13800. otherwise you only have 4k to work with and you are the small blind the next hand. you are gonna have to call then and at most double to 8k if lucky. in reality you shouldnt ever get in that situation in the first place where you have that little in the BB. probably should have gone all in the hand before no matter what you had, (even 27o). maybe you get lucky and pick up the pot by folds, or pairing a trey, but its too late to wait for a real hand.

having said that, congrats, you must have done a lot of things right.

Thanks puppy toes and thanks for the advice as well. What helped was I watched those videos posted of Tom McEvoy, taught me to wait for good cards, but during this tournament I may have waited too long playing less than 10 hands, lol!

Lots of players on this forum think Mcevoy is way too tight. Not that his playing style is wrong, but don't assume that you have to play the same way as someone just because they have books or internet videos out.

That said, congrats on making the final table. Hope you are successful in future tournies.
