Does a word even exist that offends men as much the "B" or "C" words offend women?

I once took offense to being called a jerk, since it seemed like an unconventional choice, given the contemporary insults of our times.

I dunno, I'm probably in deep. Damn.

if my boyfriend ever calls me that then I know I probably deserve it. I'm immune to most of the name calling stuff anyway. Still I can't believe OP called his girlfriend a bitch. Bad move unless she's as laid back as me.

for her to say "You have a small dick and never satisfy any of my needs in bed. I'd rather have sex with your best friend."

I've since apologized, and things are now all good. It was in the heat of the moment and the first (and last) time I've said it in almost 11 years of dating/marriage.

One thing I don't understand, and hopefully being a lady yourself you'd be able to shed some light on this, is why it's less of a crime to say "Quit bitching" or "You're always bitching about..." as opposed to labeling them a flat-out bitch?

as[censored]hole is pretty bad to be called

"bitch" as a verb -- not so bad, means to gripe. Everyone uses it.

"bitch" as a noun -- pretty much means someone you can't stand to be with.

The allegedly horrible "c" word is universal and can be just as easily applied to men. A trip to Scotland can expose one to all sorts of wonderful applications of the word. However, it's use seems less dirty there and is most commonly applied in the same way as "You f***er" (Aye ye f***ing c***!)

The "b" word also seems gender neutral. But its meaning seems to vary depending on the sex that it is applied to.

I don't agree. At least for this country.

(see the pun? see what I did there with "country"? it was unintentional when I wrote it, but I'm glad it happened and I stand by it.)

There is no male equiv. If a female calls me something, I probably deserved it. Being rational, a man expects the name and accepts it. Being irrational.....

I was in a nasty break-up with a lady...ok, I cheated on her, so she replied oh she thought my other lady was "cute. She look like your mom." Man, did that ruin it.

There are two reasons. First, the verb bitch is synonymous with complain which isn't offensive at all obviously.

Second even if it were it's temporary. Permanence is worse obviously. It would be far worse to say 'you are a bitch' than to say 'you are acting like a bitch' for example because in the second case she won't necesarily be a bitch tomorrow.

I called my girlfriend the "C" word once about 8 years ago. She still reminds me about it to this day.
