playing $10+1 on empire/stars
up $500 on empire, down $200 on stars 4+6 tabling.

is this just variance?

Also, is rakeback possible on stars?

what I am trying to say is this: am I a bad player on $10+1 @ stars? because I dropped $200 in 3 hours? I am a winning player over 1000 sngs at party.

You can't talk about variance without knowing how many tournaments you played. Also, in my opinion, you need to use a very different strategy of Empire than you do on Stars, so if you are using the same strategy on both that may be the problem.

If you're making more money on Empire you may just want to open another party skin account and not play stars at all, unless you're trying to work on your post flop skills or something.

10-20 buy ins isn't that big of swing, 50 is a big down swing, but I've had 30+ swings before, that's normal.
