I couldn't find the handhistory for the fourth one. But today I got 4 times aces and I lost my all-in four times.
Pity that stars doesn't give you the handhistory right away. They mail it to you. I always have to go look for a particular hand. I found three. And I added another one as extra. I had KK 3 times, QQ 2 times and AA 4 times. I lost two times with KK and 1 time with QQ. What are the odds of getting so many monsterhands? I wanted to earn my ffp a little bit faster. So I played NL $1-$2 Took some beats. I lost $400 and I still haven't got enough ffp. Bad day today.

hung PLEASE tell me your joking about this! i had almost an exact replica of your post typed out but had to reboot because kazaa froze my computer, then i decided not to recreate the post. 5 times AA got busted on the river, 2 times KK and 2 times QQ. These happened last night/this morning...

im in total shock right now. PS: also stars

"What are the odds of getting so many monsterhands?"

Not to gloat or anything but I won w/ AA 5 times today, QQ once and JJ twice.

I dont know what the exact odds are of getting all these good hands in one day (win or lose), but I can tell you this, the significance of either of our streaks is irrelevant. If you play poker its going to happen. Just a week ago I went through the same kind of bad streak you are going through, one day I lost w/ AA 4 times KK twice, QQ twice, and AK twice. So its going to happen, and its going to happen both ways and its going to happen both ways frequently, so dont let it get you down, it will turn around.

I played for 3 hours yesterday and never got a pair higher than 99, got AKo once, AJo twice, and nothing better than 9Ts in all the rest of my hands (unless u count K6s as better). But, at least I didn't lose much.

I had one weekend where I was dealt them 8 times and lost 6, another stretch I was given queens 5 times and struck out everytime. It was an unbelievable run.... Everything evens out eventually.

My "record" Aces run was five in a sit and go, and three lost, I also failed to make the money.

I'm not really in shock or mad. It was bad play from me. But also bad luck. Those guys hit a set on the flop, I'm the one who's stupid enough to call. But hey, I didn't think I could lose so many times with aces. I guess I haven't played for poker long enough to see things like this happen. And why now? I never play those big NL games. And when I do I get big hands and lose.
Isn't it a dream come true? AA against KK, QQ, JJ and TT? Wouldn't you love this? Or better/ AA vs KK, KK, QQ and QQ. LOL. That would be the best. Everyone all in.

Hey Granny, something tells me you don't believe I lost 4 times /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
I did. But I wont argue with you because you just came back. I think I'm haunted on stars.

Does someone remember my story about a friend who lost $1000 on one single night? He won those limit tournaments etc. The lucky bastard. And then he blew it away on $10$-20 table.
Something similar is happening. I asked UB to transfer $10 to another friend. He started to play nog so long ago. Two days ago he started playing $1-$2 limit hold'em. He has more then $300 now. He took all my luck. I can't believe I have to work so hard to win a few bucks and they win so much in such a short time.

Hung, I play mostly NL too and know how much it hurts to have aces cracked, but I dont think you are playing them right...... When you have aces short handed you can limp and make small raises, but when playing a full ring game that will be the end of you. You CANT raise only $2 or $4 with them pre flop, I will call you 80% of the time if I have a medium to large suited connector or any small pair. If I hit my hand I can take your entire stack, if not it costs me $4. You have to realize that NLHE is all about implied odds, not pot odds! If you have $100 in front of you and I only have to call $4 that gives me 25-1 odds to hit my hand, and i know Ill get paid off if you have that big pair, say however that you raise $10, that gives me only 8.5 to 1 odds to hit..... do you see where Im going with this....... these people all played it the same way against you, called a small be preflop and got their money in there when they had the best of it!
My suggestions (altho there are better players in the NL forum)
Hand 1)Bigger initial raise, when he reraises you.. go all-in
Hand 2)Bigger initial raise
Hand 3)Bigger initial raise (altho you still may have been in trouble as QQ probably would have called, but at least then if you bet the pot on the flop, and he comes over the top you then have a way to get away from the hand)
Hand 4)Even bigger initial raise than you would make with AA, as here you must fear over cards on the flop.

Ok, thats what I have to say, I may be wrong according to some, but I speak from experience. I too have had timed where my hands were cracked after a weak preflop bet. Remember:
play aggressive
dont give people odds to draw out (the cardinal sin of NL)
Change gears, dont always play big pairs the same way!
Very Powerful Tool= limp reraise. You are much better limping than raising $2 in NL, at that point when someone bets you can come over the top for all your chips and they will hopefully feel you are making a play, or that they are pot committed and will call with the worst hand.
Good Luck, May the Deck Be With You!

Just a little addendum....
Pick up a copy of super system, the NL section is pretty good and still accurate in my opinion.

I have been on a rather bad streak myself the past 2 weeks, Down about $200 (it would be about $4-500 if not for all the deposit bonuses). Stay strong and dont let the fear of running bad make you play scared, only smarter /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Hey Rollaj,

THANKS! I really mean it. I have read super system. And I have ordered the book of Cloutier. Books wont help me much, I need experience.
Yesterday I thought: bad run, it happens. Nothing to worry about. But there's something to worry about. I played bad. And I just realized it when I read your post. I'm used to play smaller games and these big games scare me. I'm scared to bet or raise. I'm happy that you pointed that out. Because I wont make the same mistake again. I thought I was good enough to play bigger. But I'd better stay in the smaller games. Because I have been winning a lot at those games.
I forget that aces are not invicible. I try to trick them, but they are the one that got me. I just got aces again. Just one minute ago. I'm playing and typing this post. I raised $10 on the button and everyone folded. Pity. But it's better this way.

Thanks again

Next time when we play NL and I beat the hell out of you, you should blame yourself. BUt you just helped me improve /forums/images/icons/wink.gif /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

The real issue in my mind is not how many times we win or lose with monster starting hands but how badly I believe these hands were played and what you can do to improve your winning % with them. Playing no limit is the perfect place to do this but you played em like it was a limit game that switched to a no limit as soon as you were behind. You must raise much more initially and when you dont and someone comes along and then hits the flop and then goes allin ahead of you then its time to consider mucking. You are more than likely down to 2 outs but certainly not enough to call at this point. Make your opponents pay to outflop or draw out on you. I think you botched hands 1,2 and 4 and probably coldnt do much about hand 3 any differently. This is just my opinion of course. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Are you on at 6-7pm eastern time (NY), if you are I will look for you. I too play mostly 25-50 cent blind games, and had my ass handed to me the first few times I tried to move up. I still play mostly the lower NL games but had a nice time on the UB $1-2 blind game last night...sat down with $40 which is too low, but I took most of my money out of UB so decided to sit down with half, so that I could rebuy if needed..... long story short I left with $190(was up to $245 at one point /forums/images/icons/frown.gif ). There is a huge difference btwn the higher limits and lower. Probably the same difference as btwn .5-1 limit and $10-20 limit at least in my estimation. We`ll get some bruises, but in the long run we are both better off learning how to play well enough to beat the big game as thats where the money is if you are good enough /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

2 noted I am editing in:
1)I would shy away from $10 bets unless someone has raised before you..... the red chips look very intimidating
2)Dont forget to change gears (sometimes limp, sometimes raise 3, sometimes make it 8) You want to make it so people dont know if you have AA, KK, AK, or even 5-6 or 9-10 suited

I'm playing right now. I just won $200 at the $1-$2 NL HE table. Started with $100 and got up when I had $300. Now I play small again. All this at UB. I can't win on stars. Don't understand it.
I play between 12pm and 6pm. So when you arrive I'll be in bed. During the week-end I stay up later, so maybe we'll meet during the week-ends.

I never bet even numbers. I always bet 10.25 or 9.75. Looks more impressive. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Hey Granny, something tells me you don't believe I lost 4 times

i saw the hand histories, and they were BRUTAL. There is no question in my mind that it FELT like you had aces cracked 4 times, but i know you too well hung. cracked #4 would be posted. 3 times in such a short span is almost impossible to be dealt, and to have them all beat had to hurt.
