Hey, guys. I don't play much limit, and when I do it's certainly not at the 100/200 level. I was just curious about this hand. Why did Hansen 4 bet PF? I know he is very aggressive and can play any two in NL, but why here? This just seems -EV to me. Granted Panella86 is very aggressive and a douchebag (not that his douchbagginess would have any bearing on this hand), but I just don't get it- especially since Pokergod raised PF. Plus what about Gus's play on the other streets?

Oh, and sorry about the HH, I couldn't get the converter to work.

I don't get it either. I watched him play 3 handed for about 5 minutes, and I thought he misplayed hands terribly:

panella raises button

gus 3bets sb with A7o

bb cc's, panella calls.

Flop QT6, two spades, gus LEADS (he has no flush draw), bb raises, panella cc's, gus calls.

Turn 8, giving gus a super shaky gutter draw. Check, bb bets, panella and gus call.

River blanks, and it's checked around, BB wins with AT.

His play on this hand is not so terrible. Preflop and the flop lead are standard. As to the flop call of the raise... it's questionable, but not that bad.

You're not 3 betting a button raise from an unsucessful high stakes player with A7 to get it heads up. (I know this guy has won a shitload at tournaments, but he's a significant net loser at high stakes limit from what i understand)

dont put too much confidence in how gus hansen plays high stakes limit. it could be bad for your wallet.

Gus has played in the big game, from what Greenstein said he took a beating in the beginning but ended up beating the game for some amount. I wouldn't say by any means that Gus is a donkey in any game. The guy just has a different understanding of the game, and is thinking on a higher level than any of you.

Whatever- it was a horrible play and he got lucky. Preflop call was abysmal- rest was ok b/c pot was huge. This is all in my opinion but... BabyJesus do you mean 'any of YOU' or 'any of US'? If you mean 'YOU' please fill the rest of us in as to his thought process b/c I can't see the logic in his school of thought b/c I'm missing something.
