A continuation bet OOP w/ JJ

I usually always make a continuation bet no matter what my holding, if an Ace or King drops on the flop, which has worked pretty well. Always when I'm last to act though.

Is it a bad idea to do it in a situation like this, when first to act? I'm probably going to have to give up this pot no matter what.

If I check it's obvious I don't have an Ace. In this situation I was thinking, if he called with a lower PP, he might fold. Or should I just check and try to get away cheap, even though I allow him to attempt to steal the pot if he doesn't have anything either?

looks standard to me. Though I tend to bet a little smaller, say 2/3 pot.

I dont like it...pretty much since you are betting almost pot here you are saying it is more likely than not that he does not have an A or a K. When in actuality he probably has an A or K ~75% here.

PS if he didnt have an A or K he would fold to 1/2-2/3 pot bet, but I still wouldnt C-bet when both an A and a K fall, unless my opponent is REALLY loose pf.

I think it is &gt;50% that villain has a low pocket pair, suited connector or semi-connectors, or a weak Axs or a weak Kxs. Any of these, even the weak TPWK hands would be likely to fold to a strong continuation bet if they didn't flop a set and there was no straight or flush draw to go along with their weak pairs. I always make a note of guys that call continuation bets with A3s for a TPWK with no flush draw. They call too much, so I value bet more when I play hands with them later.

I like. I don't "always" do this though as certain guys I know will call me with A2 and will never think for a second I have AK AQish, of course I'm sure youd adjust to that, just a thought.
