A lot of people don't get high right away, and not only with weed.

Then suddenly they feel reality slipping sideways a little on them, and get into it. You sometimes have to almost will yourself into it.

Kind of like a contact high, where you can get a feeling of being buzzed when you haven't even partaken. A lot of it is just attitude for some people at first. You can clamp up yourself without knowing it even, and not let anything get in, and stay sober. But the stoned state is malleable, kind of like a drunk can snap right out of it when he's in danger sometimes. You can slip into it, too, but it isn't always easy the first time or too.

i smoked this girl out the other night and she had never smoked out of a bong. i have a glass on glass roor and she tooke like 3 hits, said she felt nothing, then started coughing and then was as high as anyone ive ever seen for like 3 hours. this is similar to how i remember my first bongloads.

This is common. It's also what happens in people who get the most addicted to Pot.

People who go through this eventually have a great euphoric experience somewhere down the line. Most start doing it regularly doing more and more until it eventually doesn't work. That's the "gateway" thing that everyone hypes about. Usually they move on to another drug, usually Meth because it fixes all the problems the person is having with pot.

So I guess you could look at it 2 different ways:

Keep doing it eventually it will work or

Stop if you can help it because your prone.


Age also has a lot to do with it. If you still aren't in your mid-20's.

the last time i smoked pot was around 4 months ago. my buddy brought some weed over and we smoked it. after a couple of joints, the entire world was bent at a 45 degree angle, and i kept grabbing my chips because i thought they were going to fall over. i've never been that high before, most of the time weed just mellows me out and makes me feel chill.

1. The pot you're getting probably sucks. Your friends say they're getting high but that means crap, maybe they just want to be cool.

2. It often takes a few uses for people to start getting the full effect of pot. Although this may be one of those old wives' tales stemming from the fact that the pot kids get in high school sucks anyway.

3. There's a decent chance you're screwing up the smoking process somewhere, with a clogged pipe or failing to use a carb or something like that.

4. You're not missing that much anyway.

I quit smoking pot years ago, making it all the much easier to continue to not smoke pot when I got a job that forbids it. Makes me feel pretty dull.

I also didn't like the way it made my lungs feel. Then again, booze isn't exactly a hero to your liver, either.

I think everyone should smoke it for at least a while, if only to get past all the completely politicized crap and government-backed lies about it, and realize it isn't a quick path to heroin, communism, and a life of child molestation. It's pretty harmless stuff, can be fun, and can open your mind up to looking at things in different ways(the main thing that makes so many people fear and hate it). It doesn't lead to anything except eating everything in the house and being really harmlessly dorky. And unless you're going to start demonizing beer and coffee and the massive legally sanctioned and doctor-encouraged use of psychopharmaceuticals to "cure" every sort of type of mental fart imaginable, it makes no sense to single out other dreugs for persecution. Aside from which, spending unbelievable amounts of tax dollars to police and criminalize this crap, create international mafias over it, and throw tons of harmless citizens into jail over it, is one of the stupidest generations-long endeavors the American people could have possibly chosen to undertake.

I really wish more people understood/took seriously your rant. I quit smoking bud awhile ago. I'm a guitar player and, contrary to popular belief, I have always been much more creative while sober. I am glad that I smoked however. It does give a certain degree of wisdom. If nothing else, it shows the hypocrisy of the law. I have been close to death many times because of alcohol but never because of weed. I still maintain that I'm a safer driver while high then when I'm sober. (I am much more alert and concerned about safety when high).
