Which game is better to play?

The .50/$1 at Paradise where the drop is .25/$5 up to $1 or Party where the drop is .50 at $5 and thats all?

Thanks

Lets say you win a $6 pot, at paradise you'll be paying .25 at party it will cost you .50. Let's say you win a $13 pot. At paradise it will cost you .50 at party it will be the same. Now, let's say you win a $18 pot. At paradise this will cost you .75, but at party it will only cost you .50. With a $23 pot you'll be paying $1 at paradise, but only .50 at party.

In other words it costs you less (or the same) to play at paradise unless your pot is over $15. That's 15 BB, and while I haven't been playing poker that long it seems like the majority of the pots you are going to win will be less than this. Therefore paradise is the better deal.

Maybe I'm going about this the wrong way, but this makes sense to me.

I think Party rakes $1 for pots over $20 and over.

IMHO the slighty higher rake at Party is irrelevant, because I have a much better chance at winning the pot at Party, due to the easier games. I can consistently beat the .50/1 Party games, Paradise was (probably still is) tougher place for me to play.

I think for the house the party rake is better, but for the player it should be party even with higher rake because the skill level is at least a notch below paradise if not two notches,(unless you go tilted by the horrible beats).

party often rewards you for playing raked hands. They are not running it this month, but they usually have good freerolls for qualified players(who plays a lot of raked hands) Definitely stay with party.
