6 handed.

UTG raises. fold to me in BB, I have AA.

I 3 bet, UTG calls.

Flop comes

A 2 5

I bet, he raises.

No read on the guy at this point, but what is the standard line, and how do you change that line based on opponent?

Call flop. Bet/3 bet turn.

The standard line is to get as many bets as you possibly can.

Against an unknown I've been 3-betting and leading.

Against an aggressive player I call the flop and bet/3-bet the turn.

One of the considerations that I've been thinking more and more about lately, is if we bloat the pot on the flop, can we keep this guy in the pot?

I think if we cap the flop they are going into C/C mode to the river with any ace (except maybe AK) and any mid-high pocket pair. So...

1) Bet/Raise/3bet/Cap flop (2), bet/call (1), bet/call (1)= 4BB
2) Bet/Raise/Call flop (1.5), bet/raise/raise/call (4), bet/call (2)= 7.5 BB

You just have to make sure he is aggressive enough to raise your lead on the turn to make it worthwhile. Another possibly safer option would be to call flop and checkraise turn:

3) Bet/Raise/call, check bet raise call, bet call (6.5).

I would say in order of best to worst it would be 1) call flop and bet/cap turn; 2) call flop and checkraise turn; and 3) cap flop and lead turn.

If your opponent bloats it with you, then, yes. Otherwise, this is read-dependent. Some guys will scatter off when you 3-bet the flop, some won't.

What hands are you going to get action from on this flop?

He most likely has a pair smaller than an ace or 2 blanks. Maybe the case ace, but that is unlikely and you are getting action if he does.

So, With the blanks, he folds to the 3 bet. With a pair he may fold. with the A you get action.

With air he bets turn if you check to him, and fold if you donk.
Ace he bets turn.
PP he might check behind, where he would have called down your 3 bet on the flop.

Call and check raise turn, or 3 bet and lead, or call flop lead/3 bet turn are all viable options.

Against someone really aggro, who you think has a made hand, call flop, and bet/3bet turn.

Against someone aggro who you think has blanks, call flop and check raise turn.

Against an average player, 3 bet and lead.

Good summary?
