And I'm about 90% sure that you should play it this way every single time.

I think the other 10% of you just may be right.

I usually fold preflop, is this bad?

I might, and you're only getting 3-1, which isn't enough really. But I think you can take SNIPS's stack nearly every time you flop a set, so the reward potential is really high.

I may fold also but with a few callers, I will also call for 55.

I don't think it's a leak. I play this hand exactly the same way.

I fold preflop (although I don't think it's a big deal). Postflop you played fine IMO.

No problems here, you played it right.

What would you do if the 6 were a 7 instead?

Seems fine to me.

If you want to feel like you have more control, you could bet 30 chips and hope they all give you a 'free' card because of it, but really I think that's likely to be a waste of 30 chips.

I play it the same way. Except I sometimes fold preflop. I like having good position on the raiser, but it's not that cheap & there's only 1 cold caller to sandwich. I don't think it matters much one way or the other whether you call or fold preflop.

I think folding preflop is way better than calling. You're not getting great immediate pot odds, and you'll be out of position for the hand with a hand that doesn't play well out of position on nearly all flops. I think your best case scenario for a non-8 flop would be undercards and then you're only looking for a check-raise that ends the hand on the flop. Also, if you do flop your set you won't be able to extract as much because you're out of position. I really like folding in these spots.

Pot has t125 and you are putting in t40 more. The odds of flopping a set are basically 8:1, so you need to think that you can get t200 after you would hit a set everytime you hit one to get the proper odds (current + implied) right now to call.

That said, I usually fold this, though it is pretty close and maybe a call is better. After calling, you played it fine though.

It's a drip. If you always/never call a raise with a PP, that's a leak. Fold or call, either way is all right with me. I've done both.

I always fold preflop in this exact spot, but like I said, It's probably not a huge deal.

How do you play your pocket pairs? Which pairs do you raise with, call with? When does the levels your playing come into play (i.e. L1-3 vs L4+) Basically how does Curtains play pocket pairs throughout the game?

It depends. If the raise was to 40-45, I would call for sure. So its obviously quite close. I guess I just fold when the raise is 55 here in an 800 chips game and there is only one caller.

Do you guys that are folding realize that he's in the BB and its only 40 to call?
