Do the skill levels jump significantly for each step tourney on PP?

More specifically, is the jump in average skill from step 4 to 5 comparable to the jump from 1 to 2?

I'm hoping it levels out at some point because I rock the step 1s and have yet to beat a step 2.

If it keeps getting significantly harder for each level, I'm doomed and should probably give up even trying step tournies.

If the $10 entry is within your comfort zone, it could be a way to get good experience against better players more cheaply than usual.

It depends on your long term philosophy.
