View Full Version : Lynyrd Skynyrd - A Simple Man
Ok, so this used to be one of my favorite songs by him, but I think it's because I was listening to either an edited version or I missed the opening or actually I think it's the first time I actually heard the right words. I always thought in the beginning that it was a father giving the advice. Now I realize it's a mother. This has completely ruined the song for me. Totally ridiculous?

Him?
This song rocks dude. [censored] the words it's [censored] Lynyrd Skynyrd. Most irrelevant lyrics ever. Great solo in this one. Perhaps even better than "That Smell."

Him?
Lynyrd Skynyrd is the band, not a person.
Likewise with Jethro Tull.

There's a live version of the song, but you should still be able to hear "momma told me when I was young..."
