I've never been up to date on all the hip lingo kids are using these days so could somebody please tell me how pwned got started. I can grasp its meaning well enough and I've heard of getting owned, but where does the p come from? Just curious.

p is next to o on the keyboard. i first saw it used in starcraft, in which most ingame chat had typos all over the place.

Its not hip. If someone on this board starts saying pwned, I am deffinately going to think way less than them. Same with newb.

133t-speak started before the (public)internet, back when there were only BBS's. It was funny then. It isn't funny now, with the exception of usng it to piss people off who think it's not funny. Because that pwns.
