Are any Paradise players doing the sportsbook.com promotion where you get a free poker chip set if you place 1 NFL bet a week? I just received an email about this today, but in the fine print it says that you must start betting from week 1. Does anyone have more info on this one?

Doesn't really say how big the set is or if it's clay composite or what. Wouldn't be a bad deal if they was decent chips although I don't bet on sports anymore.

I may do this, can someone email me Paradise's email about their new sportsbook? I know that I got it, but I think I deleted it. Anyone know if their is a bonus for the sportsbook? thanks.

I emailed Paradise and they said that you are elligible if you play every week for the rest of the season starting now. AFAIK, the offer is restricted to Paradise customers who DO NOT have an account with sportsbook.com.

Sportsbook.com is notorious for screwing their customers so if I were you I'd find another book. The only reason I'm doing this offer is because the offer came from Paradise, not sportsbook.com. Even so, I'm going to bet very small in case sportsbook.com tries to pull something shady.

Usually 20% when you load; $50 or a % for referrals. I have been using Sportsbook.com for years...get gifts all year long (hats, shirts, CDs, X-Mas and b-day cards, etc) and have never had a single problem...checks from Canada and Fedex arrives 2 days after I withdraw...top-notch.

In fact, they bought the 50" Sammy DLP sitting downstairs next to the 8" slate pool table they bought me the year before /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Since I bet football pretty religiously, I am all over this...eBay material worse case scenario.

Thanks OP.

So they screw poeple over and people should find another spotsbook, but you are going to deal with them? /images/graemlins/confused.gif

Again, for the rest of the people, I have been with them for years...never a single glitch..flawless. I would never consider another sportsbook, but I guess that's just me (and everyone I know who bets football for more than average money).

I'm going to give them action because I know Paradise's arm of their business is going to back me up if they try to screw me on the chipset. I figure the chance of sportsbook.com pulling something like this is greater than 10%. Also, I plan on betting only $10 a game, so I think there's a good chance I'll fly under their radar. No way I would put down serious money there.

No offense, but I suspect you drop a lot of money at sportsbook.com. Those "free" goodies they're sending you aren't free. Sportsbook.com has a long history of trying to weasel their way out of paying sharp bettors, and even squares run into trouble there as the book has a history of voiding longshot wins. It's no mistake that www.sportsbookreview.com (http://www.sportsbookreview.com) rates them a D+

PS: If you're betting "more than average money" then how come you don't put money in several books and shop for the best line?

I guess that depends on what you mean by "drop." I had a bad season 2 years ago, but I pull thousands in football bets each season...use my econometrics to perform some smooth multivariate and logistical regression modeling. I do "drop" a lot each week (I call it hedging; I lay a lot of action and spread enough parlays around that I have everything hedged, in the event many of my teams lose).

I only bet football, though, and never messed with their "casino" before they opened (or aquired, not sure how this came to be) Paradise...never, ever played those "casinos" with slots and BJ, etc...

As for the ratings, I could show you a ton of sites that do those...and have interests in the books they rate highly.

Many people rave about BoDog. You should hear the stories my friend could tell when he tried to pull out his $7K after the SuperBowl last year...WOW. The hoops he had to jump through made him come back to my side of the fence. Moreover, how many know BoDog came to be from one of my old, old sportbooks--the MyianOnline (or Mayain...I forget...was like 3-4 years ago). The totally screwed us over during the transition. I wouldn't deposit $.25 into BoDog, but others seem to like it...

They paid my 8 or 9 team moneyline parlay last year, along with my 20-1 "Will Kobe Bryant be...guilty/not guilty/case dismissed." I put $200 on charges dropped...pay dirt.

Again, I request FedEx checks and they come from the Bank of Canada in 2 working days...

My friend likes to do that...which is how he had his run-in with BoDog...and BetonUSA..and the rest of the crap sites he bets on. When I find one that pays me out with the speed of Sportsbook and never once did me wrong, I'll buy the 1/2-1 point and pay a little extra juice for security, if need be....maybe that's just me. Given the overall volume of the site, though, and the money going down on both sides, the spreads the offer might be .5 point off other sites, tops...show me one where all the action is on one side at Sportsbook and the spread is more than .5 off another.

Speaking of which, I have :45 minutes to get my bets in on half-juice Friday...I'll post my lock-of-the week when I am done crunching /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm not trying to suggest that people bet there; I really don't care. I just saw the comment about them and wanted to shed some light on them from my perspective. I've tried the waters elsewhere and also hadf hassles...would not even move to another book for a $500 deposit bonus...

I havent bet sports in years, so correct me if Im wrong. If I bet 10 to win 9, the site is making $.50 every wager I make. So if I bet 16 weeks they make on avg $8 and will send me a set of chips for that $8.....
Sounds like a nice sign up bonus....Am I wrong in my figuring?

A little heads up for the non Americans!

I registered for this bonus and they've updated the site since.

They've changed the date from having to have done the first bet from the beginning of September to October 1st but they've also suddenly added that it's only open to residents of the USA!!

I've mailed them and asked if this also applies to me as I've registered before they added this rule and had a conversation with Livehelp if they would send the set worldwide which they said they would so I'll keep you updated on the result.

This is the reply I got:

Dear Timothy,

Thank you for your email! I regret to inform you that this offer is in fact
only open for residents of the United States. I do apologise for any confusion
caused and for any incorrect information you received. Sorry for any
inconvenience. If you have any queries regarding this or any matter please do
not hesitate to contact us!

Kind regards,
Kevin.

So too bad but they've been friendly and honest enough about it so no sour grapes as far as I'm concerned.
