Playing in a small home game, player A and player B reach the river and show cards. Player A says "I only have 6's and throws cards face up into the community cards and discards. Player B shows a pair of 7's and starts raking the pot, a third player notices that the pair of sixes actually make a straight....eventually the pot is divided with no one being happy. What would the right call be?

If the cards are in the muck, then the hand is dead. If they don't touch the muck, then I'd say the straight wins, but if your home game has a rule about such, then you would defer to it.

cards speak - if he turns the cards up, no matter what happens to em, he has a right to win the pot.

The straight gets the chips.

We always say that the better hand wins the pot.
