as a test i thought i would 6 table the 2nl on UB, and after 10,000 hands and 2.5 weeks later here are the results:

10,479 hands, $96.33 won, 22.98 ptbb/100, $17.20 rake.

for this level i'm not actually seeing a whole lot of profit, but i doubt immensely that the tables are swarming with poker tracker players (like almost all of 25nl) so i'm almost free to run any player over. it's been the juiciest play i think i've ever played and i can nut peddle and still be paid off on 6 tables.

now, however, i have a large question that can only be posed here:

do i continue this to build a roll and just keep playing for eternity or ... move up? i don't know if i really want to move up only because (and i know what i'm about to say will be bashed) i think poker tracker is a huge advantage. such a huge advantage that it perhaps IS almost playing vs bots at higher levels. people can 3/4 table or 6 table and make easy laydowns or easy calls...

...so either play low low stakes and play high stakes live or take a chance and play medium/high stakes online and high stakes live?

Im pretty sure you can make 4 buyins at 25NL over 10k hands...

99$ is way more than 4 buyins at 10k hands...

Define high stakes live. You're playing $2 NL online and $5/10 NL or higher offline? ::scratches head::

i meant in regards to the stakes being played right now. 200nl live.....sorry that is still SSNL.

the point is playing the bottom of the barrel. in fact at fallsview the lowest u can play NL is 5/5. the fish have NOWHERE to hide.

i play as high stakes as possible live but online i play mid stakes. just all about comfort level.

and people live suck.

but you're playing 1cent/2cent, (BTW, 17.2 rake... SO BRUTAL, hope you had rakeback! /images/graemlins/smile.gif ) so I guess 1/2 (smallest no limit casino game) would be high for you. So go for it.

Have you played in the $5/5 game there? I play there or the $2/5 NL at Casino Niagara pretty regularly, perhaps I've seen you?

i think i talked about this with you. i haven't been to fallsview because they don't let u listen to iPods/discmen while your playing so it really turns me off. i'm going to the american side to play today after my allergy shot though...

He's saying you made the equivilant of four $25 buyins.

Also, I wouldn't fear widespread pokertracker use at the $25 level.
And, as with most subjective tools, I would venture that many pokertracker users get *almost* nothing useful in the way of relevant reads.
Play your normal game, adjust to someone you feel is making a high % of good plays against you.

I think you should move up when you are confident that you can sustain a winning rate (even if it is relatively small, like 4-7BB/100) at the current level (generally over 10K - 20K hands, at least) AND you've accumulated enough of a roll to survive some initial loses if variance bites you in the butt during your first few sessions at the higher level. If you end up 10 buy-ins down at the higher level, you're not ready and move back down to study, improve and rebuild a bankroll to try again later.

So, I guess I wouln't move up without enough for 10 buyins at my current level plus at least 10 more buyins at the next level.

Provided you have the bankroll, move up.

You could also start playing the $5 and $10 games on UB before making the jump to $25.

As per your pokertracker comments. The only thing I use them for is to stay away from the people with 6% VPIP and to tangle with the people with 30% W$SD.

I've been wondering how to use the W$SD stat. Does 30%+ mean the guy is a sort of calling station, and will call down with dominated/weak hands?

Yep, I try to play as many hands as possible with these guys.

At the very least, it means he doesn't win much when he has to show his hand down. This could mean that he's overly aggressive with crap, or a calling station. Other factors come into play, but yeah...that's really not a good percentage, lol.
