View Full Version : Religious Neanderthals

I recently read that there is evidence that at least some Neanderthal communities were religious. (Graves all point east, as well as being buried with food and material possessions, presumably for the afterlife) The general consensus is that Neanderthals were a distinct species and could not reproduce with essentially modern humans who would appear later but whose existences did overlap.

Just curious as to others thoughts on this and its implications.

The evidence for religious neanderthals in our own time is overwhelming.

(Sorry, too easy to pass up.)

Not all sentient beings created by God necessarily have to have souls. Thus they live and die and that is it.

A convenient position from a human who is the lucky species.
