Pretty much you have decided to bluff at the pot, your starting hand is probably behind and you are out of position, however against the right opponent who can release a hand like 1010, JJ on a scary boad i like this line.

However i would three bet preflop and then go from there, after that the hand plays differently.

actually i was going to check/fold flop, but then after he checked and i picked up a flush draw, i decided to semibluff, the river is the main question

check fold the river, i dont see him folding anything but a busted flush draw here, which i dont see him having, i doubt you got raised, i would say he called and showed QQ/AQ, i very much doubted he believes you hold a K, in fact he might have KK himself

No, it doesn't look like the right opponent. Does an aggressive player ever check the flop here except as a trap?

I think you're up against Quad Kings a very high portion of the time here.

aces up, close enough, but at least he didnt raise, what do yall think about if it were a more weak tight opponent?

Am I the only one who doesn't like the turn bet?

i guess if i was thinking properly, i would have realized he was going to raise me, but the bet was just too tempting when the spade fell

I don't like the turn bet. His flop check heads-up looks mighty suspicious. He will have top pair, overpair or a set here almost every time. So I think you're wasting money on both turn and river.

Check/fold the turn.

typically when people check the flop after raising HU with only 1 overcard on the flop: HUGE HAND. it's the "ooh i have something, i'll play sneaky / dang i missed, i'd better bluff and hope he folds" mentality.

check/call the turn. check/fold the river UI.

ps: FWIW: it's fun to REVERSE this line of thinking HU OOP /images/graemlins/grin.gif to check/raise with nothing- you'll get a fold a lot. [evil laugh]muuwaahaha [/evil laugh]

This was my first thought, as well.

OP -- anyone who checks the flop through heads up and then raises that turn is going to be very happy to see you bet on the river.

In live play I have noticed that a number of opponents get scared when the top pair pairs and release some weak hands. Online I found it the opposite.

What about check / call the turn and check / fold the river? You spend one BB this way to see if you make your flush.

Your line makes you pay 3 BB minimum and possibly 4 if he raises the river. The pot is 2 BB on the turn so why get crazy over it?

If he doesn't have a K, he'll still probably call for one bet given his stats.

I'm a crazy blind defender. 3 betting for deception out of the BB is fun..

I like the river bet. I believe the Q probably paired his hand. The only hope you have to win the pot is with a bet. if it works one out of 6 times you are ahead. I believe it is close tho'

Are you joking? With villain checking the turn his A outs are good like never cause he's behind KK meaning some of his flush outs are dead too. He's only getting 3.17:1 on a check/call. This is a fold.
