Today is my 22nd birthday.
For years I have been lying about my age to all casual aquantances.

My True Age/Stated Age, went as followed:

17: 18-21
18: 20-21
19: 21-23
20: 21-23
21: 22

Now that I am 22, I will stop. I'm sure in a few year's I'll want to lie in the other direction, but as of now I look like I'm 30, so I dont think that will happen.

DO you generally tell the truth about your age?

Yes, I tell my real age. Mostly because I don't have a vagina.

Yes.

What the hell would any man lie about his age?

I usually tell people my real age except when I'm trying to get into bars or some poker games (I'm 20).

if you asked people who i know how old I am you would get one of 3 responses. i generally tell the truth, unless you consider not making it clear that i'm not as old as i look not being truthful. anything people would assume about my age is too old, and i never correct anyone.

i do lie about it when i play poker though.

Just make sure you keep your casual aquantances away from your birthday party. They might get confused.

off-topic:

my college roommate has a saying, "when you turn 21 you go out drinking with your friends. when you turn 22 you drink at home, alone."

hopefully your b-day was better than that.

Lol, I gonna be drinking quite a bit with my friends.

If anyones by Union Square on Friday night, look out for a fat drunk guy with about 20 friends trying to stop him from lighting something on fire in front of the King's Head. Drop me a sup bro, and I'll buy you a beer; or throw a lit matchbook at you, depending on my mood at the time.

why would you lie about your age unless you want to get into a bar? that's the only time i lie about it. i rarely ever talk to older girls, but i suppose lying about your age could help you in that aspect. but overall, in answer to your question, no i almost never lie about my age.

I always tell people my real age. Sometimes I'll say I weigh 120 pounds though.

I can still get away with taking 5 years off. As for inflating my age when I was younger there was no need. The legal age of drinking in AZ at the time was 19. I frequented bars unabated at 17 with a fake ID until I was 19.

-"How old are you boys?"

-"Fifteen. Uhhhhhhh, I mean 27...."

-"Yeah, heh heh, heh heh"

-"Not tonight boys. Call me when you get some pubes, ok??"

I know a guy who likes to lie about his age, name, occupation, etc. when meeting random people. When we hang out, I play along.

I tell people my real age. I'm not a liar, nor do I like liars.

Pre-21 in bars, it was different, out of necessity.

Not usually but sometimes I make up random lies to tell people I don't know and I will never see again that I meet in bars and stuff.

EDIT: When I said "not usually" I meant I don't usually lie about my age.

Anyone, anywhere. Ie. its a very profitable prop bet, if you are at a bar with more than 30 people in it. You take any 1 person, and ask 30 random people, 70% of the time, someone in that 30 random people will have the same birthday as that 1 person.

I was born in 1969 so pretty much all of my friends got a razorblade and cut out the number "9" on our driver's licenses and turned them upside down and glued them back in so it said 1966. Worked like a charm. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

OK, how many people need to be in the group for there to be a 50% chance 2 have the same b-day?

You've gotten this a bit wrong. The chance of anyone in a group of thirty having the same birthday as a specific person is just around 8%, if I did my homework correctly.
What you should bet on in a bar with 30 persons, is that you will find a pair of two people sharing the same birthday. And that is a bit different from what you are proposing. The 50/50 split here is at 23 persons.

Crazy Lady: Thirty. Thirties. Late thirties.

Judge Judy: What kind of answer was that? Let's try again. How old are you?

Crazy Lady: 42.

i skipped grade 8 and graduated a year early. I went to university just before my 17th birthday and had lived my whole life with an older crowd. I never lied about my age (except on a vacation which got me in trouble) and was generally accepted by those who got to know me. I went through purbity early and always looked older than even my older friends. I also always had an ID and never had trouble in that regard. However, i had a somewhat of a problem sealing the deal with chicks (that i didn't know well) when i didn't lie. Intead of lying, i always tried to avoid the question or play-down the meaning of age, but the question is difficult to avoid and age does matter to most girls. in conclusion, lying is the best strategy if you want to score with more chicks.
