View Full Version : Best SNL Movie of the 90s

I'm using the term "SNL" a little loosely here. It can be a Michaels-produced film with an SNL star, it can be a pure SNL skit ripoff, or it can just be a comedy whose star used SNL as a springboard (i.e. Billy Madison). Only in the 1990s.

Well?

Happy Gilmore.

i'm choosing this without thinking a lot about it, but I'm going with Wayne's World with Coneheads pretty close.

There are plenty of worthwhile ones but I think the correct answer is Wayne's World 2 by a fair margin.

Wayne's World is definitely top 2 for me. Wayne's World 2 wouldn't get that close IMO.

Tommy Boy is effing up there.

oh, wait, I didn't read the original post closely enough. I didn't realize a movie like Tommy Boy would count.

this is too difficult, I think it should be kept to strictly SNL skits or something.

I can't decide now

Jake, you need to watch this after a joint. I don't know if that's possible though, seeing as you are so old.

Happy Gilmore is Sandler's best and the best SNL movie. Too many good lines.

Tommy Boy

I'm also inexplicably fond of The Ladies Man.

Edit: Eh, it was 2000.

I'm nominating Beverly Hills Ninja.

Too tough to choose between Happy Gilmore and Tommy Boy. Farley was the best but HG was so memorable. I'll go with Happy.

Roxbury is the best of them, the worst has to be Coneheads or wasn't there a Ladies Man movie?

I would vote Wayne's World, but the line "You tried to oil me up, and that's not cool" is the most memorable of any. Except maybe "The price is wrong, bitch."

austin powers: the spy who shagged me

[/ QUOTE ]

If these count I would go with the first one. I thought the spy who shagged me was more funny but the first was more clever and a better parody. The third pretty much sucked. It was by far the worst movie ever for me in the expectations to enjoyment ratio.

This thread should have ended at Wayne's World.
