Tonight's game is scheduled to be their "Whale Game", a high limit game with many businessmen types and a couple of pros mixed in. The game was scheduled to be started at 4pm PT, but what limit game it is hasn't been found out yet. Last night's $200 min/max game was a rather odd one, with lots of erratic behavior and strange play. Head over to www.liveatthebike.com (http://www.liveatthebike.com) from 6-9pm PT to catch the action.

Wednesday is always the best night for LATB. Should be a good one. Lets hope they have a few live ones in the game ala Corporation Mike or Jesus.

Hopefully the game will be worth the upgrade, I haven't heard from Bart yet about what tonight's game actually will be, so if you're browsing Bart, hurry up!

Tonight's game is 50/100 NL 5k buyin first two tries, 10k on the 3rd buyin, 20k on the 4th. It has Hasan Habib, Yosh Nakano, etc.

TomHimself
09-21-2005, 08:58 PM

Kevmath
09-21-2005, 09:00 PM
I think they set that up because most of the players aren't pros and don't want to be intimidated by someone bringing a huge stack of chips and running over the table.

cwsiggy
09-21-2005, 09:01 PM
I'm not sure why they do that. I imagine to keep someone from buying in huge and running over the table like in any restricted game.

cwsiggy
09-21-2005, 09:07 PM
I missed the turn action, but shouldn't you make a decent sized bet at some point with pocket QQ's even with the ace to "see where you're at"?

littledave
09-21-2005, 09:08 PM
Will Hasan Habib (Hasan Habib!!!) get a chance to hit on the same Blue-Babe as last week? I see a couple of babes but none are sitting right up at the table... yet.

Kevmath
09-21-2005, 09:28 PM
I'm surprised news networks were going to show the landing live, I recall there was a small plane that had trouble a few months ago and they taped the landing because they didn't want to show a plane crash on live TV.

09-21-2005, 09:32 PM
It's a little strange being on this side.

Hey Shirley and Bart.

Kevmath
09-21-2005, 09:36 PM
Wow a Friar Tuch apperance, and how did he get a special title after 15 posts? I demand my own special title as well.

How can a series about a plane crash go multiple seasons, explain that one to me. What happens if they go to season 3?

Basesd on Yosh's open ender, isn't running it twice in this instance a big odds benefit to yosh? That is based on pot odds etc. So, then is it always in his best interest to run it multiple times?

As poorly as Frank played his A10o, he made the right choice NOT to run it, as this would lower his variance and converge his winnings on the hand towards his EV, which is massively negative.

Actually the overall EV is not the same when you run it twice. They don't shuffle the first turn and river card back into the deck before dealing the second time, so if you hit your hand on the first try, you will have fewer outs in the deck to hit the second time. This lowers the EV for the drawing hand.

BartHanson

Quite an exciting show tonight. Frank M took down some monster pots and is running pretty hot. I'll give you guys an update on how the game ends tomorrow.

On another note running the river multiple times does not change your overall expected value. Although the result of the previous runs do effect the future runs, if you take the runs as a package the overall EV stays the same. Thats why I made the blackjack analogy. The chances that you win 3 blackjack hands in a row at the beginning of a shoe are about the same~12%. If you take into account the cards tht ave been dealt by counting hand 1 your chances of winning hand 2 are different. I hope this clears things up. Thanks for watching.
Bart
