I like it a lot. SB is obviously on an overpair. Who knows what MP has. SB is very very likely going to fold here, if you're not ahead of MP you likely still have tons of outs (OESD + your 8's probably). NH.

No other way to play it. Very nicely done. At 5/10, this raise folds a better hand from SB a lot and isolates the idiot you may already beat, while you still have 10 outs to improve.

On the turn, I like the fold better than the 3-bet. Who knoks what MP1 has? Probably at least a 7 or a 9. You may make your straight &find that he was full on the turn or filled on the same card that straightened you. It just seems prudent to give up the 4 bets that you have already invested rather than investing 6 or 8 more in this situation, imo.

We're not worried about how many bets we've "invested", we're worried about winning what is now a big pot. Against a passive opponent or semi-ratinoal I agree that we can just fold. However, this guy is 80VPIP with a 2.5 AF i.e. a maniac . He has us beat maybe maybe maybe 50% of the time. And a full house maybe maybe maybe 10% of the time. So I love it.

I don't know how to interpret those player performance numbers that you mentioned, so I didn't have all the information. It changes the situation dramatically when I know the guy is a loose cannon. Thanks.

the numbers are A/B/C

A=VPIP generally % hands he plays
B=PRF % of total hands he raise preflop
C=AF AGression factor. 2.5 is aggressive for a tight player. For a loose player it is really really high and means he is betting and raising a lot of weak hands

We only have 25 hand sample on MP, but it is probably enough, especially with table reads to assume he is a maniac

It's beautiful, but in the future when you post action about a specific decision, cut the action off there.
