View Full Version : 3-Way All-In Preflop: Unreal Hole Cards (NC)

This is not a brag post (maybe it is a puppy-kicking post). This hand turned out well, but if there is a point to it other than comedy value, it is that we often have discussions about when/whether/how often/against who KK should call all-ins preflop when it seems villain has to have AA. When people do things like this with some frequency, how can you fold pocket kings?

This sort of play continues to amaze me.

Both villains are lags, but up to this point I was respecting UTG. SB was just a silly, silly boy.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (6 max, 6 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

SB ($66.25)
BB ($63.40)
UTG ($61.50)
Hero ($85.70)
CO ($138)
Button ($21.57)

Preflop: Hero is MP with A/images/graemlins/heart.gif, A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif. SB posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG raises to $10, Hero raises to $25, SB reraises to $65 (All-In), UTG calls $51 (All-In)3 folds, Hero calls $41.25.

Flop: ($192.75) A/images/graemlins/club.gif, J/images/graemlins/spade.gif, T/images/graemlins/spade.gif (3 players)

Turn: ($192.75) 6/images/graemlins/heart.gif (3 players)

River: ($192.75) 3/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (3 players)

Final Pot: $192.75

Results in white below:
SB has 9c 9h (one pair, nines).
UTG has 5c 9d (high card, ace).
Hero has Ah Ad (three of a kind, aces).
Outcome: Hero wins $192.75.

You have nothing invested in the pot, why even get involved with an UTG raiser?!?

That said, nice catch on the flop there.

I think does bring up a good point about folding KK preflop in low limits; mainly, never do it.

Against KK and QQ your aces are only a 60% favorite. I wait for a better spot to put all my money in. Fold. Dats no limit baby!

Definitely. I frequently fold the current nuts if I'm getting too much action and I don't have any redraws... variance is a bitch.

Not that far of actually - against both KK & QQ, aces are "only" a 67% favourite /images/graemlins/smile.gif
