i like checking this turn too for pot control and because i dont think we gain much by betting. but, i think we need to be prepared to call a river bet here if its not too big... am i lost?

If it were heads up, I'd agree, but since it's 3-way, I am folding to any real bet on turn and river. Pot is too bloated for me to wanna stick around with just a pair of jacks,

You could bet but it just seems like a waste of your money. I like the check/prepare to fold. If it gets checked around I scream "RED RIVER!". If you get to that point consider a blocking bet.
