View Full Version : Do you recognize names or avatars?

Just out of curiosity, when you read a post, do you recognize the poster by his/her name or avatar? I've noticed that when someone changes their avatar it usually takes me a second to recognize who it is.

Sometimes I will skip over peoples posts I know when they change their avatar, then realize it at the end of the thread or something.

well that was the idea, having the avatar be eurotrash (as quoted by Moe in that episode), but i never intended to be a gimmick account. hmm, I wonder if anybody else thought this

Mostly names, but avatars in a few cases - especially when it's a throbbing cherry

ChipWrecked
09-21-2005, 05:09 AM
Yes.

The cherry went to a different kind of movement after the throb was 'outed'. Now best I can tell it has no motion at all.

That, combined with Gorie's on-again-off-again virginity, makes me believe there is something so deep going on there that I only get the most superficial of levels.

I notice the name of the OP for later posters in a thread it's avatars.

edit: it occurred to me now that I also recognize the name of the latest responder, so if I'm following a thread closely I'll recognize plenty names but if there are several responses it's mostly avatars.

I kind of wish that whatever avatar a person had at the time of each post would just stay with that post, instead of it updating every post with the new avatar. This thread would definitely make more sense if it did that. Certainly, avatar picking threads would be better and it would be more interesting when you go back and see old posts.

Yeah this thread will make no sense to anyone reading it from now. But, at least I don't have to stick with that lame cowbell avatar.
