Is this the video of the Costa Rica show, with all of the old grey-haired loose aggressive players?

I've also been trawling the net for any WPT as it's probably the only way I'm going to get to see it. I found a bit torrent of the first one at http://www.torrentse.cx/

search in google for "bit torrent" if you haven't heard of it

it's not a great connection but hopefully i'll have something to watch in a few hours that isn't another late night poker rerun! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

go to this page, and sign up for the email notification on the videos. they were supposed to be released last month, so i would imagine they are VERY close to being available.

thanks, i've been waiting on their mail for a month or so now, i'm really looking for a preview to see if it's all it's cracked up to be and to be able to keep up with conversation about the show as it happens

to see if it's all it's cracked up to be

IMO, it is MORE than i expected. it is the nuts!! i have a secret supplier here who got me 2 of them on DVD before my break, and i admit to watching them a dozen times each.

certainly there are people who are not as enthusiatic as i am about the production, but i personally think it is top notch. this is our chance to grow poker to levels that i never expected.

from the WPT chicks, all the way to sexton's professionalism and enthusiasm make it amazing entertainment. (i think Mike is an awesome announcer, and perfect for the gig).

for those like me that don't get travel on their cable, i'd reccomend getting a friend to send them to you. i was actually astonished at how good of a job they have done.

i indirectly worked for lyle b. 8 years ago, so it was not a big suprise that it is a first class production. what WAS a suprise is the fact that this appears to be something that will not only transcend expectations of poker players, but has a real shot of making our game main stream.

we have already seen huge increases in fish traffic at our sites, and i feel this is only the tip of the iceburg. i was worried that this funding dillema we are battling would hurt online poker, but the first season of the World Poker Tour has done more for the game than i think anyone imagined was possible.

wtg WPT !

I took them all. And the coming next weeks, I'll do nothing else then watch them.

I managed to get hold of some very poor quality video of the pilot and watched what i could of it last night and I am also very impressed. The lingo explanations and graphical hole cards combined with explanation of the tactics and odds to be a favourite etc will teach beginners so much so quickly.

I can definitely see the mainstream potential, and since the show is so well done, I can't see how they can deny showing it to us over here! Many more hands are shown than on LNP so there's a much better feel of the dynamic of the table.

Poker has a bit of a different reputation here than in the US I gather, a smaller relative proportion of people play it so it is simply regarded as another form of gambling where the good players are blessed in their genes to be good at this "black art".

I play online on mostly European sites as cashing out is much easier but do occasionally pop over to UB and PS - maybe I'll see if the aquarium is filling up, hehe!

Very impressed, now to get my hands on some original material.
