worst downswing, and at what level?

I was wondering if anyone would care to post their worst downswing by buy-in amount. Also include what level, over how many SnG's. I am currently in the midst of a 20 buy-in downswing and 11 OOTM streak. This is at the 33's, but my main question is, how often do this usually occur? I play between 550-750 SnG's a month, so should I expect to go through one of these every month?

This isn't fun. /images/graemlins/frown.gif I'm playing well, I think. I've run AKs/AKo into Kings about 5 times while short stacked. I can't really win races, losing with high pairs to low pairs and suited paints, etc. Not really tilting. Hopefully it'll pass.

Things don't happen at some sort of scheduled frequency. I dropped around 50 buyins at the 215s last month, that's the worst I've had so far, but 10+ buyin daily swings are pretty par for the course at that level.

Today I have gone from being down eleven buyins to now being up five.

My record is 40 buyins and 27 of them came in one day. I don't think I would be able to drop that much in a day now since I'm not a good frame of mind after a drop of 15 buyins. Better to quit and take the rest of the day off.

ive dropped 50+ 3 separate times at the 55s, 109s and 215s, and i did like 40 another time at the 55s. its no fun, but when u play a lot, u see it a lot. 15 is nothing, 20 is nothing, 30 is nothing. one very respected stter on this forum has dropped 70 in the 109s. i wont call him out unless he does, but that sucks. holla

More attributed to tilt and bad bankroll management then variance IMO, but since I wasn't keeping stats I will never be 100% positive. But I lost half my br so I guess about 30-40 buyins at the 33's (Although a lot of that loss was in 50 dollar heads up matched..Then had a big MTT final table made most of it back, and then proceeded to lose it all again. Not fun. Luckily I've learned my lesson and have made it all back plus some more.

In the middle of my worst so far since started playing around 500 month for close to a year that is a 40x downswing at the 33's and yes it sucks. You start to doubt you ability and can't wait for it to end. Flushed my first bankroll during this streak had to redeposit which sucked too.

Yep did both of those this month. (12 OOTM and 25 buy-in down swing) I've dropped 30 before, if you are playing that many i would expect at least a 10-15 buy in down swing per month.

I must emphasize, go through your game, look at your holes, odds are you aren't playing your best game. (especially while the streak is going) If need be, take a break.

This is my worst so far at the 33s, and it really sucks, but if I look at it from the perspective that I've lost less than I made in one day last weekend (admittedly a megaheater), it's easier to take. And let's be honest, it's not the end of the world if you're playing at a stake at which you're comfortable.

At the 22s I once dropped 32 buyins over 100 or so, IIRC.

At the 11s the worst I ever had was -15 buyins, again IIRC.

At the 6s I played like 5 and was OOTM on 1 I think. So 1.

Edit: I said it really sucks, and I would like to amend that to say it sucks, but it's not the worst, it's just short term variance.

When this happens I filter in the run dates and look at my hand frequency and sort by times to try to tell my self it isd just a bad run of cards.

Right now I am on a wierd break even run...where I have finished in 3rd 27% of the freaking time but 1st and 2nd only 14% of the time combined.

I have played about 2,500 SNGs. I once dropped 35 buyins. The most games I've placed OOTM in a row has been 16. I think..after the 35 buyin drop, the biggest drop besides that was just 20 buyins. This is all at the $55s.

just hit my 2nd longest breakeven streak:
89 50+5
21% ITM
-34% ROI

It took another 212 games to breakeven. (301 game breakeven streak.)

unlike my other breakeven streak (above link), i wasnt that phased by it.

yes i was upset, but i wasnt worried. no ulcers, no doubting myself.

i guess it's like having a baby. the 1st one you're a train wreck. The ones that follow you take it in stride.

Well, I'm in the middle of something at the $22's. I had a 18 OTM streak, but I was tired most of the time and it happened very.. easily or naturally or whatever. Don't play when you're tired. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
Then the next day, I played another set. I busted out of one early, but on the other three tables (nearing the bubble) I had tripled up on one, doubled up on another, and &gt;1000 at the third. Then Eurobet disconnected and I couldn't log on anymore. I thought it was pretty funny.

Lost ~$2,000 in a horrible streak of 33's and 55's, with roughly 75% of those being 33's. I estimate that the total buy-ins was in the neighborhood of 50-60 and this took place over about a month (sorry for all the qualifiers it was between April and May and the further it gets from then the more this is like a distant memory).

That was 4-tabling with a failed attempt at 8-tabling thrown in the middle of that (exacerbating the problem no doubt).

I have played over 4,000 SNG's to date and this was by far the worst stretch I have encountered.

In ~400 109's (8-tabling) my worst drop has been 24 buy-ins.
