I suspected that villain had pocket rockets. Should I have folded my trips? Is folding preflop a better move? I thought about it but couldn't do it. Should I? Any input is appreciated.

I had just sat down at the table and had no reads. Villains stats ended up like this:
VP$P 39%
PFR % 9%
AGF 2.91
74 hands

Second set at NL25 on a board with only very obscure straights and no flushes, no way. You have to lose here. Yoy should probably bet full pot on the flop not that its have made any difference.

You can never get away from this, be glad he only had $10.
Folding preflop - how can you consider this, even if he showed you the AA preflop you should still call.

If you fold this hand you should quit playing poker.

This is a must-call, for reasons that the others pointed out.

Especially significant is the fact that Villain had 40BB at the start of the hand -- you can't be upset about only losing 40BB in a set-over-set situation.

Also; why were you so sure he had AA? At this level, the min-reraise from the blind could still mean A9o on occasion, and some players (believe it or not) would play KK like this. Certainly AK is a possibility, as is AJo or 99.
