View Full Version : Why do people play multiple limits?

I recently moved from 10/20 to 15/30 and was surprised to see a lot of the same TAGs playing both games. Why would you play both, seems if you are good enough to play 15/30 you would always do that.
Could be a lot of reasons: not fully bankrolled but taking a shot at the higher level, not enough good tables at the higher level, found a great fish at one level or the other, and a bunch more.
If they were playing 10/20 and 50/100 at the same time, then I'd wonder.

Game selection do0d.
some 10/20 games might be worth more than most 15/30s. Some 15/30s will be juicy, playing only one level and not being willing to step down a little even if the games are bad is foolish.

What's the blind structure at the 15/30? $5/$15? You could make a case for this game being too tough (with this structure) for bad players. Then the better players have to scout tables for the not-so-good, and find them at the 10/20.

Well if you're running bad it always helps to move up in limits. After losing 150BB at 5/10 I sat down in a 15/30 game and made almost all of it back in 2.5 orbits. Its always nice to play a limit where people don't hit trip fours after capping with A4o. Sadly they don't seem to cap with A4o as often though /images/graemlins/blush.gif
For the satirically challenged I'm not being serious. Although this did happen to me a couple days ago.
