View Full Version : NA vs Europe (IV) poll

The time is getting closer for the fourth battle of North America vs Europe 2+2 forum game.

Dr. Physic has asked me to be the captain of the North American team (winners) /images/graemlins/cool.gif and I have accepted the challenge.

For those of you unfamiliar with the game, it will be a multi table NL holdem freezeout on Poker Stars. More details will follow in other posts.

We need to get the ball rolling by taking a poll to see when you want the game to happen.

I haven't voted at all, but I always believe these things should be as cheap as possible so that more people can play and so that trash talking and the suchlike can remain fun for everyone.

Done. Anytime/price is fine for me really. Broadly, I think higher buy-in is +EV, since most Americans lack intelligence and are poor poker players.

That is all.

TROLL,

Come out from under your bridge and open your eyes. Americans have more intelligence, heart and courage in our little fingers than you will ever know.

Europe got lucky once. It won't happen again.

Bring it on shorty!

I'll play if I can make the date / time that'd decided on. Probably won't make it if it's a Sunday, probably will if it's a Sat.

Yes you get to play if you want to. I need to discuss with Stoneii which team you should be on. I'm thinking that you should pick the team you want to help, but I'm new to this so I want to discuss it with him first. We'll let you know.

Hi Valen

Cha emailed me regarding your query and we both agree that yes of course you can play, the game is open to absolutely anyone no matter where they live.

It is purely a personal choice who any player signs up to play for (or indeed if they want to play but not for either team) they are quite free to play as an independent and a few have done just that in previous encounters.

We only need an accurate account of exactly who is representing who before the event kicks off just so there can be no accusations of any shenanigans when it comes to scoring.

All that means is that if you haven't registered for any team before the game starts, but show up to play, then you score for neither team, just for yourself.

However, the poll right now is just to sort out a popular date/time etc to accomodate the majority of players, after this is decided, cha and I will then put up an official "sign up and be counted for..." type post.

Welcome to the IVth EU v NA game and we'll let you choose your weapon sir /images/graemlins/smile.gif

My votes are cast, i wasn't too sure about the times though. We don't want it at a time where the americans are all awake and alert and the europeans are having to play at 4am or something stupid.

(if the americans want to play at some ungodly time in the morning though thats perfectly fine.)

I think you may be overstating the danger of that. There is no such time.

Hi jaffa

No, wouldn't want that myself, but the latest option is 3pm ET which is only 5 hours behind GMT )isn't it?), so we're good for a latest 8pm UK time (9pm central europe time) kick-off.

As to their alertness, perhaps we can extend a friendly NA party invite the evening before the game lol ?

Nah, no need to offer them excuses for the pounding /images/graemlins/grin.gif

You're right. It is coming home.

Here's a bucket of water for your fire: It just isn't coming to your home. /images/graemlins/shocked.gif It will be coming home to where it rightfully belongs - North America! /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

This is open to anyone on here?
Because I'd like to show some redneck pride (since I did move to Nashville) and whoop on some fancypants "furners".

We used to have an advertisement over here for what you NA'ers call a candy bar (called a Texan - true).

It went something like..........

"Bite into a Texan and chew, reeeaaaal slow"

Think I may just take them up on that /images/graemlins/cool.gif
