Exactly 35 years ago today, the greatest guitarist of all time passed away, and I thought that a list of the greatest Jimi songs would be my little tribute to his memory.

1. Little Wing
2. Machine Gun
3. All Along the Watchtower

When he lived in LA, he lived about a block from where I live now. I like to think he's been to my house. Maybe for a garage sale, or drug binge, or something.

All Along the Watchtower was not a song until Jimi recorded it.

How is Voodoo Chile not on that list? Axis is still one of the greatest albums ever made. I always think of Neil Young, a great guitarist, saying that when you saw Hendrix play, you realized how bad you really were. He made mistakes sound intentional. Great exhibit at the Rock Hall of Fame in Cleveland on Hendrix. Really interesting guy.
