degree poker in canada: straight flush!! yikes

did anyone see the degree poker championships on TSN a few nights ago when the ace high flush was beaten by straight flush. it was pretty painful.

Yeah that was really brutal. The guy thought he had the nuts and then the dude just flips over the straight flush...it was awesome.

i havent watched these broadcasts yet, but werent these basically a bunch of freerolls where anyone could enter culminating in these final table broadcasts?

If so, what is the level of play like? Are these good players or lowlevel freerollers...

saw it at my gym... for sure, it was free-roll and not only that but people were picked randomly so there weren't necessarily a bunch of good players in there if the tournament had been for everyone (i.e. 20,000 people)... so it was probably mostly poor players who qualified.

only saw it at gym and i think it was really, really edited so impossible really to say.

i just like the fact it's some canadian content... why is a deodorant company sponsoring this??? sell more deodorant? i got some free stuff as i was at the casino (not playing) for a degree qualifier, and the deodorant is excellent, so maybe they do sell more.
