I've been trying to improve my heads-up play lately, particularly in not paying off when it's almost clear that I'm beat. This has been tough in the early going.
6-12 home game. LP openraises, folded to me in the BB with TT. I 3-bet and he calls.
Flop is 5-4-3. I bet and he calls.
Turn is a 2. I check and fold.
Against this player, I was pleased with my fold. I was very certain he had the ace. After the hand he said "good fold, Ace Jack" but didn't show it.
what does anyone think?
Would a better play have been calling pre-flop and checkraising the flop?
