I'f I'm in mid to late position with a mid pocket pair (88 or better), I will invariably reraise to isolate the initial raiser.

Good, aggressive poker or too reckless?

Naturally, I'mnot doing this against an UTG raiser who has proven to be solid. But otherwise,I do it as a matter of course.

Opinions?

LOL- I like your conciseness.

But what if there have been one or two limpers before the initial raiser? I'll call with 77s on down but calling with 88s or 99s just seems weak....

It's a depth thing.

well this just depends on the type of players youre in their with... sometimes it may be most profitable to reraise trying to win the pot now or set up a profitable flop situation where you will likely be checked to and will often win the pot w/ a 2/3 bet.
against bad players it is often better to call bc you will win big pots when you flop middle set and someone else has top pair/overpair.
so... it depends.

Stack sizes are the key...I like doing it w/ all pocket pairs...not just 88+, especially b/c most players are reluctant to put in the third raise w/ big pairs now adays.
