Update - I was just going by what I had heard, but since there was disagreement I asked a friend who would know better than me and he believes it is actually:

shuh FOE nee

Perhaps we should just list every possible pronunciation and then hold a vote? /images/graemlins/smile.gif Anyway, the "correct" pronunciation should be "ch fone" as in ciao, but it was apparently Americanized. So my friend tells me anyway. He seemed relatively certain, but willing to accept defeat if incontrovertible evidence were produced to the contrary. I was unable to find any with Google so I'll accept his pronunciation for now.

I love how names can change. My favorite is Joe Theisman. His name was pronounced Theesman until he was in the running for the Heisman trophy in college and he's been Joe Thighsman ever since. Or so the story goes.
