I know that dell supposedly runs deals on their 20 inch lcds, but I really need one pretty soon since I'm gonna be living in a dorm and space is really limited. Anyone know where I can pick these things up cheap?

I'm not sure I understand the importance of it saying TFT (thin film transistor). All i really care about is resolution

Because when you say UXGA..your talking about a laptop screen not a monitor.

I thought UXGA stood for the resolution (1600x1200)?

What's UXGA have to do with a laptop screen other than the fact that a laptop screen can have an UXGA display? Of course a monitor can have an UXGA display as well, so...

MyMindIsGoing brings up TFT because it is the best technology for LCD flat panels whether that be in stand alone monitor form or the built-in laptop variety...

All modern lcds use TFT and active matrix technology.

Exactly, so why are people calling them LCD? LCD nowdays refers to the passive matrix.

It refers to the resolution not a screen itself.
